In order to change your relationship to your self you first need to see the ego structures and their parroted content. This course has shown you some of their antics and where to spot them in the forest. Below is a progressive framework to help you sense the Sub-ego and Ego. It begins with the most reactive approach and ultimately leaves you with a meditation course to get proactive.

  1. See the game tracks of the ego:

    • Reflect on our recent or past actions to see how the Ego took a role in the play.

    • Reflect on your past inner-dialogs to see if the Ego was your friend or foe.

  2. Reflect now to see if you can sense the Ego and inner parroting, the default mode network. Use emotions as Ego presence indicators for yourself and others.

    • What is your inner-dialog deliberating? Analyze its tact, its prodding and manipulating behaviors.

    • Seeing other’s Ego’s is far easier than your own. Learn from them as your Ego is just as fallible and capable.

  3. Internally witnessing the inner voice, default mode network, of the the self as it wields your parroted narrative story.

    • This can be easily seen in meditation. As you focus on a singular object, you’ll see your mind’s parrot antics. The chattering between the primary parrot and the secondary will be easily discernible. Go witness as the observer.

  4. Dis-identify from the self structure, and its stranglehold, by witnessing its ego thralling efforts to regain control.

    • You are not the parrot, not the ego nor the self.

    • Quiet the parrots down to see this through meditation.

  5. The figurative parrots (ego structures) do not go away even when well managed. They serve a purpose and continued function as tamed parrots but are no longer a vale for one’s true essence. Still, they chatter and do what parrots do. The difference is that their antics will no longer cause as much inner/outer turmoil and suffering. Just witness them and give ‘em a neutrality cracker.
